Justine Beverley is a bilingual singer-songwriter whose music blends American country with Scottish folk and a touch of French pop. Originally from France, she began her musical journey after several years backpacking in Australia, where she immersed herself in the local folk scene. Shortly after her debut open mic in 2023, she was awarded a coveted slot at the Danny Kyle Open Stage at Celtic Connections, leading to appearances at Country2Country and other major Scottish festivals. This summer, she performed on the main stage at ButeFest and as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, sharing line-ups with rising voices in Scotland’s folk and country scene.

 

Influenced by Gillian Welch, Lainey Wilson, Evan Honer, Sons of the East, and Beluga Lagoon, her sound is rooted in the storytelling tradition of country music, with lyrics that explore heartbreak, restlessness, and the fragile poetry of everyday life. With a growing catalogue of original songs in both English and French, she brings a fresh, cross-cultural voice to the country music scene. Over the past year, she has also shared her songs on Celtic Music Radio and Loch Lomond Radio, connecting with new audiences ahead of her upcoming releases.

 

In 2025, Justine Beverley expanded her craft in Nashville, where she attended Andrea Stolpe’s renowned songwriting retreat, featuring guest speaker Beth Nielsen Chapman (“This Kiss” for Faith Hill). While in the city, she also showcased her work at several writers’ rounds, including performances at The Commodore Grill, The Stillery, and Live Oak. These experiences cement Justine Beverley as a distinctive new voice, bridging Nashville’s songwriting tradition with Europe’s ever-growing country-folk scene.
